Randomness and a Camping Trip to La Pine, Oregon
It only took me 4 years... but Emma finally got her first manicure and pedicure!!! Now she wants them done ALL the time! (See why I waited 4 years :-) I know my girl!)
Who needs to spend lots of money to go to a water park for a water slide???? When you have a willing sibling and a hose!
Emma taking care of her baby dolls on our trip out to La Pine, Oregon (Eleanor is in her car seat to Emma's right... Emma helps make road trips SO much easier!)
Is it just my imagination or does this picture make Colin look A LOT older!!! What a wonderful Big Brother!
Emma and Harrison hanging out while we set up tents and make dinner in the dark (it's how most camping trips start out for us :-)
Alexander helping Auntie Pasha make breakfast and Harrison waiting so patiently.
One of the amazing views in the area where we camped at La Pine State Park!!! Definitely a new favorite camping spot!
Harrison way a top the mountain... tuckered out after his long hike (really we drove up and he climbed all of 10 feet but he sure looks like he hiked the whole thing doesn't he.) :-)
The only challenge to this campground is the amount of dirt!!!! EVERYWHERE... thank goodness they also had showers... my kids were COVERED by the end of each day... a sample of the reason why below!
"Hey Colin... think we can dig deep enough to make this 'log' stand straight up???"
---by the way they did!
Emma: "Look Harrison... a dust cloud!"
Harrison: "Ha ha ha"
Emma: "Ew... wait... phewwww.. maybe that wasn't such a good idea."
4 Dirty and VERY Happy children waiting for their dinner (they look like they are becoming a bit primitive don't they!)
At East Lake seeing which rocks will "float"... there were lava rocks on the beach that did float on water.. they spent a long time finding these special rocks.
On a side note... last year on our camping trip to Wallowa Lake, Oregon with Stephen and Pasha (in August mind you) we went hiking on a mountain and we were snowed on!!!
This year we were here playing on the beach of this lake when a nasty looking cloud came in and HAILED on us!!! Crazy!!!
So of course we packed everyone up quickly but as soon as we were loaded up it stopped... so we went over to the little store at the lake and bought some ice cream.
I guess we forgot to tell Harrison you're not suppose to feed the bears.
Stephen and Pasha snuck in some time to do a little fishing and brought back a trout. Stephen cleaned it up and cooked it up... the freshest fish my children have ever had!!! They all LOVED it!
A little picture we took 'before' our trip... we went ahead and got them each new sleeping bags since we didn't have any that kept them all warm enough with some of the places we go camping. They love them!!!
It was yet another wonderful camping trip with Stephen and Pasha!!! We are even going to go back to the same spot next year... La Pine is wonderful!

Ah, the best ever Cooney kid picture mystery solved! I was wondering where that awesome and hilarious picture of your kids on your header came from! I love it! Love, too, how Pasha is shining the flashlight on the fish. Eating in the dark camping...that is how we always end up doing it, too!! So glad you had a great time!
