Marsala Cheese Tart
By April Macdonald
Description: There is really no COOK time as mentioned below.. it's freezer time :-) This dessert is a bit rich (at least for me) is why it will serve 12.
Ingredients:
5 ounces gingersnaps, broken into very small pieces (I use the blender :-)
4 Tblsp. unsalted butter, melted
8 ounces cream cheese, room temp
1/2 cup sugar
2 Tbsp Marsala
1 tsp. vanilla
1/2 cup heavy whipping cream
3 oranges, sliced with outer membranes removed for garnish
Directions:
Finely grind gingersnaps, then mix well with butter. Press into an 8 inch tart pan with removable bottom. Place in freezer. Meanwhile beat cream cheese and sugar until fluffy. Add Marsala and vanilla and beat until combined. Place aside. Next beat the whipping cream til stiff peaks form. Fold into cream-cheese mixture. Spoon into prepared crust and return to freezer for at least 2 hours. Remove bottom of tart pan, slice and garnish with oranges and enjoy!
